Boomerang

Boomerang is a wooden device that was initially used for hunting. It has now become a sporting item. Many types of boomerang throwing contest are conducted like accuracy of return, Aussie round, trick catch, maximum time aloft, fast catch and endurance.

Modern sport boomerang comes in different sizes and shapes, made up of plywood, plastic, hardwood or other materials. Most boomerangs weigh less than 100 gm. but MTA (special maximum time aloft) event boomerang weighs less than 25 gm. Sporting boomerangs are smaller than the hunting ones.

My boomerang won’t come back is a common complaint that most people make. It happens because of improper throwing as most people make a common mistake of throwing it across the body or sidearm. Pinch grip is used for better spinning. Boomerang throw should be horizontal. If the throw is very high it will land behind you and if very low it will fly in front of you. History Of Frisbee

Beside boomerang, flying disc is also a common sporting item commonly called Frisbee. Frisbee is made up of plastic and measures around 20 to 25 centimeters in diameter. It was invented by Warren Franscioni in 1948 the original disc was unsuccessful and was redesigned by Fred Morrison who later sold it to Wham O who gave it the name of Frisbee.

Ultimate Frisbee is a team sport played with flying disc. A person score points by passing the disc in the opposing end zone similar to that in rugby and American Football. Players are not allowed to run while throwing the disc. The game is based on rules of fair play sportsmanship and the joy of the game.

Frisbee is a trademark but it is actually called “ultimate”. The ultimate is based on ten simple rules of which one main rule is that team player cannot have physical contact if they do it, it results in a foul. Throwing and booming is so much fun.
